Dear Friends of The Angel Inn
The last few months have been very challenging for everyone but the ‘new normal’ is beginning to emerge.
During this period, we have taken the opportunity to upgrade our rooms. Our team have been working hard behind the scenes preparing to welcome you back to The Angel Inn.
We are blessed with a spacious and tranquil garden for guests who prefer to eat al fresco. This is complemented by a generous indoor seating area.
The health and safety of our guests and our staff is of course paramount, and we want to reassure you that we will follow all government guidelines to the letter and beyond.
Whether you are here to stay for a night or two, or simply to dine with us, you will be welcomed by one of our Door Supervisors who will greet you with a warm and friendly smile.
Philippe, Carlos and The Angel Team
Stay in one of our individual comfortable rooms – available 7 days per week
We kindly ask guests to book a table for lunch and dinner and to arrive at their booked time to allow us to effectively manage numbers. We will only hold your table for 15 minutes after your booking time. Please do cancel your booking if you have a change of plans or should you or any of your household have symptoms.
For Your Safety…
We continue to follow government announcements on measures and remain flexible and responsive; we will keep you closely updated if any of our plans and procedures change.
We want you to rest assured that we are taking all the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff whilst we do everything to maintain the welcoming atmosphere of The Angel Inn.
Things may look and feel a bit different for you and us and this is so that we can ensure that we have in place: social distancing measures, hand sanitiser in all rooms and entrances, scrupulous cleaning protocols and a simplified guest journey to minimise direct interaction between our staff and guests.
We have provided more detail below and will be adapting as new guidance is released.
The Rules & Risks
We’re closely adhering to government guidelines and have carried out comprehensive risk assessments.
We Ask You
While we take these steps and implement new measures, we ask you to be sympathetic and receptive to the guidelines we are implementing, deploy common sense and play your part in keeping everyone safe.
If any one of our team members becomes symptomatic, they will be immediately sent home and asked to self-isolate, and will not be allowed to work. We are also checking all our employees’ temperatures before each shift. We kindly ask that you refrain from visiting us if you feel unwell, have any symptoms of the virus or have been advised to self-isolate.
We do kindly ask all guests to wear a mask while moving around the inside spaces at The Angel Inn, until seated at a table. Our staff will also be wearing masks or visors to reciprocate.
We welcome younger guests and respectfully ask that they remain at their table and are supervised during their visit.
Checking In & Out
Please be patient with our door supervisors whilst they check you in. For the time being, we will ask you to make your own way to your room; however, we will be happy to help with any luggage if required. Any luggage will be brought up and left outside your room. Our employees will wear gloves when handling luggage as a precaution.
Our Bar & Restaurant
Our Group Development Chefs, Aarron and Mark, are excited to showcase their summer menus, built around local produce.
Inside, the tables have been spaced to ensure guests are 2m apart in all directions, and sanitiser will be available throughout. To mitigate any queuing at bars we will only be operating table service, and all our service team will be in face masks or visors. Our teams will be running strict areas, with dedicated servers. We are operating a Customer Ordering Platform that will enable you to view and order from our menu, wine and drinks list on your mobile phone to minimise prolonged interaction with the service staff.
Booking is essential for lunch and dinner to help us manage the flow of guests.
We will only accommodate tables of up to six guests and will not be able to offer any party or large group bookings at The Angel Inn. Our sister restaurant E. Street Bar & Grill will be able to offer private dining. Please speak to Philippe or Carlos for more details.
As a hotel and restaurant, we already instil and uphold the highest health and safety standards and protocols. We have a specified housekeeping team who routinely cleans and disinfects areas that guests share. The rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, incorporating new measures along with the scrupulous protocols already in place.
All of our team members have attended a coronavirus training session and a hands-on class on cleaning and hygiene.
We are committed to working with partners who uphold the same high standards as we do.
*We remain cautious and flexible in line with government guidelines. Any changes will be incorporated into our website and any pre-booked guests will be contacted should anything change or affect a booking.
